We will meet at the Patterson Arboretum (Preston Ave N & College Drive) on May 26th at 7pm to take photos of the ornamental trees and shrubs. Leader: Jolanta Kedra.

Wednesday May 27th with Daniel from Sigma Canada – 6pm to 8pm – meeting point will be outside the main entrance to the Nutrien Wonderhub, from there will we walk to the Wier/CP Rail bridge to photograph the pelicans with telephoto lenses that Daniel will bring (he’ll bring as much as he can, but can’t confirm availability for every lens mount system).

We will go on a photo walk taking photos of one of the disc golf leagues in the city. They have given us permission to come out and photograph one night. Meet at the large parking lot at Diefenbaker Park (map) on June 4th at 6:30pm. Leader Mercedes Rhode. They love action shots and would be interested in having members photograph other events too! We’re heading out on a photo walk in and around the Remai Modern with a specific goal: to simplify. We will meet in front of the Remai Modern (102 Spadina Crescent East) on June 11th at 6pm. Leader: Jannik Plaetner. For this walk, I suggest you set your camera to shoot in black and white – something which most mirrorless cameras can do. Removing colour forces you to see differently. Line, shape, contrast, value, and balance become the subject. The architecture and surrounding space give us plenty to work with: clean lines, hard edges, open areas, and strong light. We’re not chasing complexity. Quite the opposite. Look for minimal compositions. Strip the scene down. Pay attention to how elements relate, how much you can leave out, and how much you can still leave out and still have the image hold togetherSlow down. Be deliberate. Keep it simple.

Amazing views from the Capilano Lookout of the South Saskatchewan River towards downtown Saskatoon. Meet at 202 Capilano Drive on June 23rd at 7:30pm. Leader: June McDonald There are 3 potential sites in close proximity:1. Meet at Capilano Lookout in River Heights which overlooks river and bridges. You can park on Capilano Drive. Stunning view in daylight and a totally different beautiful view when sun is setting – with lights on bridges, river and cityscape . One suggestion is to start the evening at this look out and then return near the end of evening to get lighted view, if you wish.2. Ravine Drive Stairs – 71 stairs with nice view – runs parallel to Ravine Drive. Short walk West of Capilano Lookout. At bottom, cross Spadina Crescent for pretty view of s-curve bend in river. If you want to drive to the bend in river, you can park on Ravine Drive.3. Meewasin Park: Turn left onto Spadina Crescent at bottom of Ravine Drive and continue for 1 km (approx.). Turn right into Meewasin Park (at the 2 Loraas bins ) where you will find a parking lot, and bathrooms . To the southeast of parking lot are 2 stone structures – good opportunity for portraits on the long curving rock formation on the 1st one; second one is a tall vertical stone and metal structure in the same vicinity.

Meet in front of the Remai Modern (102 Spadina Crescent East) on July 9th at 5pm. We’ll start at 5:00 @ Remai River Landing and then Victoria Park, the Jazz Festival main stage for Saskatoon Youth Jazz Orchestra at 5:30.

Meet at the Corner of Spadina and 33rd Street West at 8am The Exhibition Kick Off parade starts at 10:00 on Wednesday July 29th. But, before the parade, there’s the work and excitement of getting everything and everyone ready! Horses! Cowboys! Costumes! Floats! Clowns and Cars! Starting at 5:30, the City of Saskatoon closes off Spadina between 24th Street and 33rd Street. Community groups, equestrian units and floats start assembling as early as 6! Join Saskatoon Photography Club for our first meeting of the season on September 15, 2026 at McClure United Church, 4025 Taylor Street East, Saskatoon. Meet the board and learn about upcoming presentations, Live Shoots, Photo Reviews, competitions, judging and club activities. Guests and prospective members are welcome. Your first eligible regular visit is free, with no registration required. Beginners, smartphone photographers and experienced photographers are welcome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the meeting runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Free parking is available in the church lot. Use the east door nearest the parking lot, turn left inside and follow the hallway to the main hall. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and accessible washrooms.
