The Letter G
Description: This topic challenges you to capture a subject that visually represents the letter “G”.
Creative Ideas:
A curled vine forming a natural “G”
A storefront sign or architectural detail shaped like the letter
Review Guidelines:
Use your own photographic elements—no clipart or AI images allowed.
Keep the composition strong and relevant to the theme.
Green
Description: Explore the color green as the dominant visual element in your photograph. Whether in nature, fashion, food, or lighting, green should command attention and support your composition’s message.
Creative Ideas:
A forest glowing in golden-green sunlight
Urban graffiti in vibrant lime tones
Monochrome-style compositions in varying shades of green
Review Guidelines:
Green must clearly be the primary color—not just a background accent.
Black-and-white with selective coloring is not permitted unless done in-camera or within club editing rules.
Avoid oversaturation—judges will look for natural balance and photographic quality.
Gallop
Description: Capture the energy and movement associated with galloping.
Creative Ideas:
A horse in full stride across the prairie
Motion blur of legs during a sprint
Abstract impressions of speed through long exposures
Review Guidelines:
You are encouraged to use techniques like panning, slow shutter, or freeze-frame motion.
AI-generated motion effects or synthetic speed lines are not allowed.
Ensure the subject expresses “gallop”—not just stillness or walking.
Goat
Description: Show us your best capture of a goat—be it domestic, wild, young, or majestic. Goats offer texture, personality, and often unexpected moments. Try to portray character or habitat, rather than just a snapshot.
Creative Ideas:
A goat silhouetted on a rocky ridge
A humorous expression captured at feeding time
Review Guidelines:
Goats must be the central subject.
Images must be taken ethically—no baiting or harm permitted per SPC nature photo standards.
Zoo or sanctuary photos are allowed if the environment is natural and unobtrusive.
Guitar
Description: Strum up some creativity by photographing guitars in artistic or documentary ways. Focus on detail, storytelling, or symbolism. Whether acoustic or electric, whole or fragment, new or worn—guitars offer endless visual opportunity.
Creative Ideas:
A close-up of tuning pegs and strings
A street performer mid-song
A forgotten guitar collecting dust in a corner
