A presentation focusing on the science of aurora, how to find them and how to capture their beauty

Jeff Cruz is a Calgary based professional photographer known for his abstract and surreal photographs where he incorporates time and movement into his images. Jeff will present by Zoom at 7p.m “The World of Colour”. He will discuss how we perceive colour and how it affects our language, emotions and our lives. Other topics include the science and psychology of colour and how it relates to art forms and language. His photos will focus on his abstract in-camera work, “This Town needs an Enigma” series which has roots in topographics photography as well as commercial projects. Jeff Cruz has been exhibited across Canada and has been published in magazines in North America and Europe including PhotoLife Magazine. His awards and media interviews are wide ranging. As Saskatoon Photographic Club we look forward to Jeff helping us better understand the use of colour in a myriad of ways. Scott will share how to use Lightroom and PhotoShop to turn good photos to great award winning photos. Members are encouraged to send their best Raw images and Scott will share his editing skills. Chris will share his photos of old forgotten places across Saskatchewan photographing abandoned places day and night. Or maybe you are in the market for some equipment or accessories to add to your collection. Now is your opportunity to buy them! We have arranged for a Swap Meet to take place on February 8, 2025 at the Mayfair United Church. The cost of a table to sell your wares will be $10.00 and a table must be booked no later than January 31, 2025 with your name and the appropriate funds being emailed to treasurer@saskatoonphotographyclub.com. Set up will take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. with the sale beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. You will be responsible for setting up and manning your own table as well as handling your own sales with cash or e-transfers. We will advertise as much as possible on Facebook and Instagram and with posters dropped at Don’s Photo and other businesses to promote the event and solicit more customers but we encourage you to spread the word!
